Erica’s interest in art developed in early childhood where she spent the first seven years of her life in a displaced person’s camp in Germany. After moving to the United States, she was an only child for another seven years, and life, in those formative years, was of a no-nonsense nature.

In a world focused on practical concerns, art became the conduit for Erica’s abundant creative energy. In high school, her artistic talent and guidance counselor led her to an early entry into commercial art and advertising, but her real yearning was for fine art.

Eventually, she made that shift. Erica re-educated herself and within ten years was exhibiting in galleries in the Chicago area, competing with other artists and selling her work.

Today, she resides in the southwest, a region of strong light and rich color that inspires her to paint with the boldness that first led her into the world of fine art, where her passion continues.
